Ryse: Son of Rome is a third-person action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by Crytek Frankfurt and published by Microsoft Studios (Xbox One), Crytek (PC digital), and Deep Silver (PC retail).




Ryse: Son of Rome plunges you into the chaos and depravity of the late Roman Empire. The game tells the story of Marius Titus who witnesses the murder of his family at the hands of barbarians. Seeking revenge, Marius must embark on a perilous journey of revenge, betrayal, and divine intervention.

Ryse: Son of Rome was originally revealed as Codename: Kingdoms during Microsoft's E3 2010 press conference.


It was released on November 22, 2013 as a launch title for the Xbox One. On August 7, 2014. Later Crytek announced that Ryse would be released for the PC platform in Oktober 10, 2014. This version of the game is stated to support 4K resolution and will include previously released downloadable content.


First released exclusively for Xbox One, Ryse received mixed critical reaction from reviewers.

With an aggregate score of 64.07% on GameRankings and 60/100 on Metacritic, and Electronic Gaming Monthly gave the game a 7.5/10, praising the visuals but criticized the repetitive combat, will Ryse : Son of Rome is powerful enough to slashin' and hackin' on PC?
